Title:

Leveraging GAFE to Support Instruction and Assessment

Inquiry Question:

What impact will collaborative teaching and learning, HPEDSB Photothat focuses on the assessment for learning process, supported by technology-enabled learning environments, have on increasing the number of students achieving at or beyond the provincial standard?

Project Description:

  • Create teacher-student partnership and authentic learning opportunities, enabled by technology
  • Provide in-school experiences related to student-to-student learning, enabled by technology
  • Address assessment for learning practices that reflect deep learning pedagogy

Alignment with Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement and Well-Being

The HPEDSB Learning Connections project aligns with the board improvement plan:

IF we promote and support a collaborative professional learning culture, supported by technology-enabled learning environments, THEN we will have a collective focus on student learning for all.

IF we have job-embedded, collaborative teaching and learning, supported by technology-enabled learning environments, THEN we will have opportunities for dialogue about evidence of student learning (e.g., observation, conversation, products).

IF we focus on the assessment for learning process, supported by technology-enabled learning environments, THEN we will better understand our urgent student learning needs and with support from colleagues, use responsive instructional approaches in our practice.

IF we incorporate effective instructional and assessment approaches into our practice, supported by technology-enabled learning environments, THEN the number of students achieving at or beyond the provincial standard will improve.

IF we share our practices and results with each other, THEN we will learn from each other’s successes and draw upon the expertise of colleagues around common challenges of practice.
