The ABEL Program invites applications for one hour facilitated conversations for the 2010 ABEL Summer Institute. In keeping with the theme, these facilitated conversations should present challenging ideas about effective learning strategies and discuss how they contribute to new knowledge, and the skills required to change learning cultures and impact practice. the conversations should highlight successes and challenges from the facilitators teaching practice while encouraging participants to share and discuss their own innovative practices, successes and challenges.
The ABEL Program invites presentation applications for the 2012 ABEL Summer Institute, Changing Learning Cultures; Transforming Practice. In keeping with the theme presentations that demonstrate the application of effective learning strategies that contribute to new knowledge, and the skills required to change learning cultures and impact practice. By making effective use of technology, these sessions may include one or more examples of information communications technology (ICT) tool integration as effective teaching practice supporting increased student achievement and engagement. These sessions must demonstrate authentic learning that engages the learner; student, teachers, faculty, staff, and leaders. Hands- on sessions may be repeated. Also, sessions may be video captured for viewing by members at a later date. The ABEL Summer Institute Program Committee will contact the successful applicants by March 23rd, 2012.
